Bluetec is a technology developed by Mercedes-Benz that reduces the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from diesel engines. It achieves this through a combination of advanced fuel injection, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction (SCR).
Bluetec engines are highly efficient and meet the most stringent emission standards in the world, including the Euro 6 standard. They use a special "urea injection" system which injects a solution of urea into the exhaust system to neutralize NOx emissions.
Mercedes-Benz has been using Bluetec technology in its diesel engines since 2006. The company has also developed hybrid and electric vehicles as part of its commitment to reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency. Bluetec is available in a wide range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including SUVs, sedans, and even commercial trucks.
